Tom Carmazzi, CAO Tuthill Corporation

Tom is Tuthill Corporation’s Chief Aliveness Officer (AKA CEO).  His role, simply stated, is to bring to life the COMPASS of the Corporation. The COMPASS is Tuthill’s version of a Vision & Mission statement however it is radically different from the norm.  Their version is all about ALIVENESS with a Purpose to Wake the World (7.7 billion noses).  This HUGE undertaking takes a culture where folks want to live into their full potential not only for the company, but for their families, their community, and the world!

The journey outlined in the COMPASS began in 2006, when Tom and Jay Tuthill (the Owner of Tuthill Corporation) in concert with Therese Kienast (certified coach) developed an environment at Tuthill called the “Conscious Company”.  Since 2006, several traditional business initiatives from layoffs to divestitures have been conducted to help strengthen the company during turbulent times.  However, the most impactful initiative was the continued and unwavering commitment to an environment that invites folks to be ALIVE.  In that context the COMPASS was further enhancement in August of 2015.

As a result of these efforts Tuthill has become debt free during a challenging global economy and is well on the journey to being a Top 1% company financially!

Tom has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati.  He was a CPA and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago with an emphasis in Finance.  This education and certification, although impactful in strengthening Tom’s business acumen, it has not been as important as the transformation that was required of Tom’s heart!  That journey, fortunately for the folks around Tom, continues!!  Whew!!

Tom is on the Board of the Oakbrook Executive Breakfast Club; a member of the Presidents Advisory Council at Benedictine University; and on the board of a business headquartered in Oakbrook.  He has been married 38 years to his high school sweetheart (an Angel).  They have two children 26 (Westminster College Graduate) and 23 (ASU – College of Sustainability Graduate).

Tuthill is a privately held (4th generation) manufacturer of industrial products including pumps, meters, blowers, and vacuum systems used in “foundational” markets such as Agriculture, Energy, Construction, Food & Beverage and Water & Water Treatment.  They have manufacturing operations in the US and the UK.
